Packages & Rates

• Our packages are only offered for 1-2 hunters.

• Our prices are in Canadian Dollars (CAD) plus 7% PST.

• Our organization is dedicated to hunting knowledge and safety, and therefore, we do not offer any hunts without the Pre-Hunt Meeting.

• Our packages are open to anyone 12 years old or older.

• We only offer our services to Winnipeg residents (or, in special circumstances, those living within a 30-minute drive of the Perimeter).

• First Hunt Winnipeg does not guarantee a harvested animal. But we do guarantee that the piece of land where we bring you hunting will (1) be scouted thoroughly by us beforehand, (2) be active with your desired animal,  and (3) not be used by other First Hunt Winnipeg hunters during the hunting year you use it. We also guarantee that, should you be open to learning, our services will leave you feeling comfortable and confident enough to continue your hunting career until you find success.

• Our packages are open to any weapon type, except crossbows.

• While we can advise clients about obtaining their Hunter Education Card and a gun licence (PAL), it is highly recommended that clients be proactive and acquire these two licences several months before the autumn hunting season (bow hunters, of course, don't need a PAL). It is also necessary that all hunters adequately practice their shooting accuracy well before the hunting season (if you are unsure about where to practice, feel free to ask us! We also offer many free target training sessions throughout the summer. Keep an eye on our Instagram page for updates.)

• All of our hunt packages are specific to 1 animal species: Whitetail Deer or Grouse. We also offer our services to Elk hunters, but only if you apply and win an Elk big game draw in GHA 25A or GHA 30. We do not offer any services for Moose, Migratory Game Birds, Boars, Turkeys, or Black Bears at this time.

$1150 for 1 person / $1725 for 2 people + PST

The Pre-Hunt Meeting happens at your home (preferred) or at a central public location. During this 3-4 hours meeting, we will discuss the following:

• • Locating public land and accessible private land for hunting.

  • Determining a hunting location for our Mentored Hunt.

  • Registering for land, if necessary.

  • Reading maps of the planned hunt area.

  • Pre-reading topography of planned hunt areas.

  • Preparing our gear.

  • Recognizing what new gear we need.

  • Where and how to purchase gear.

  • Understanding the Manitoba Hunting Guide and the Manitoba eLicencing Website.

  • Weapon usage and safety.

  • Hunt schedule planning.

  • Assessing potential weather patterns.

  • Animal behaviour education and sign identification.

  • Hunting safety.

  • And more!

The Two-Day Mentored Hunt happens anytime (from 1 week to 3 months) after the Pre-Hunt Meeting.

• We at First Hunt Winnipeg will transport you and your gear from your home or a convenient location, to the hunt location, and return you at the end of the day.

• We will depart the city 1.5 hours before sunrise, and return around sundown.

• We will spend the days mentoring you through a hunt, putting into practice everything we learned from our Pre-Hunt Meeting, while answering any and all of your questions. This will include:

  • • Safely accessing our desired hunting location.

    • Reading weather.

    • Learning how to move as a hunter.

    • Discovering hotspots and animal travel corridors.

    • Reading animal sign.

    • And much more!

• Should you harvest an animal, we will teach animal cleaning and quartering, and we will transport the meat from the field to your home. For big game, we can recommend reputable butcher shops, or (for a fee) we can teach you the butchering process.

• The two hunting days do have to be used in the same calendar year, and do have to be for the same animal species. But the two hunting days do not have to be consecutive days, nor must they be for the same weapon season (ie. you can use one day in the deer muzzleloader season, and one in the deer rifle season).

$850 for 1 person / $1225 for 2 people  + PST

$350 for 1 person / $525 for 2 people  + PST

There are always gaps in our hunting knowledge that need filling, always ways to feel more confident, and always more that can be learned. The Additional Mentored Hunting Days offer you more time to do just that. Like our other hunts, these days include the following.

• We at First Hunt Winnipeg will transport you and your gear from your home or a convenient location, to the hunt location, and return you at the end of the day.

• We will spend the day mentoring you through a hunt, putting into practice everything we learned in our Pre-Hunt Meeting preparation, while answering any and all of your questions.

• We will depart the city 1.5 hours before sunrise, and return at sundown.

Please also note the following:

• Additional Mentored Hunting Days can only be used in addition to any of our two other hunting packages.

• Additional Mentored Hunting Days must be used for the same animal that was the focus of your original hunting package.

• Additional Mentored Hunting Days can be booked on any date, but only in the same calendar year as your original hunt. (ie. If your Pre-Hunt Meeting occurred on Sep 5, 2023, and your One-Day Hunt was on Sep 30, 2023, you can request an Additional Mentored Hunting Day for Nov 15, 2023).
